Perception among the Entrepreneurs of Small and Medium Enterprises about the Benefits of Corporate Governance by NMIMS, 2014

(Executive Summary)

Corporate Governance is known as Kootoniruvana Aaitchi in Tamil, Governance is called adhikaar, shasan-vidhi in Hindi is used with different control connotations in various contexts. The perceived meaning of governance and its manifestations is equally multi fold. The word is available in almost all the Indian languages and it is interesting to note the differences in the context in which it is used. On a quick review, we found that governance emphasizes more on control rather than mechanisms adopted for bringing about sustained growth and development of processes in the companies.
