(Summary)

India has been undergoing rapid changes over the past few years, as regards to its corporate governance practices. The Sarbanes Oxley type measures have played an important role in this respect. The firms which have shown improvement in their functioning, have themselves put forward the good corporate governance practices that they adopted.

Our study focuses on the corporate governance practices in family run businesses or the so called business groups of India.
