• CSR India Conclave 2013 (4 October 2013, Bhopal)
Indian Institute of Forest Management organized 'CSR India Conclave 2013' on October 4, 2013. The conclave brought the various stakeholders (policy makers, corporate houses, PSUs, NGOs and the academia) under one single roof. The objective was to analyze the framework of an actionable approach for CSR policies. The conclave aimed at bringing the different facets of CSR to light through keynote addresses, panel discussions and social innovative idea competition The conclave focuses on bridging gaps between the two ends- business and society- by facilitating communication between NGOs and the corporate CSR heads. The conclave encourages NGOs to come up with well drafted development proposals that shall be presented before the corporate heads for implementation .When the ministry of corporate affairs is devising a policy for mandatory CSR, the topic has become a burning issue. In such a scenario this CSR conclave becomes even more significant as it hopes to take this debate to a conclusive end.
The total number of participants witnessed in the CSR India Conclave 2013 is 450 (approx.) from government bodies, corporate houses, PSUs, NGOs, B- Schools and others.
• Conference on Corporate Governance & Shareholders' Right (20 September 2013, Kolkata)
The Indian Chamber of Commerce had organized a one day Conference on Corporate Governance & Shareholders' Right on 20 September 2013 in Kolkata. The conference was addressed by Hon'ble Justice Mr Amitava Lala, Former Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court, CS M S Sahoo, Secretary, ICSI & Former Board Member, SEBI and many eminent personalities from Law Firm, Association of National Exchanges Members of India, Rating Agency, Big Consulting firm and PSU. The participants at the conference was from various sectors like banks, stock broking companies, law firms ,consulting firms, rating agency and from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
• Seminar on Companies Act: The Dawn of a New Era Friday, 20 September 2013: 0930 hrs: Jacaranda Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi
CII Delhi State Office had organised a "Seminar on Companies Act: The Dawn of a New Era" on Friday, 20 September 2013 at Jacaranda, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Grant Thornton India LLP was the Knowledge partner for the Seminar.
Corporate India continues to evolve at a fast pace, and besides driving industrial growth is witnessing the emergence of a diverse set of stakeholders. The surge in natural consequences such as risk and default seems to be visibly impacting the virtues of governance, which is precisely the area on which the Act promises to substantively raise the bar. The Act was also quite outward looking and in several areas attempts to harmonize with international requirements.
The Act in a comprehensive form purports to deal with relevant themes such as investor protection, inclusive agenda, fraud mitigation, internal control, director responsibility and efficient restructuring. Indian companies will have to closely examine these developments to develop a clear strategy at ensuring compliance per the new requirements.
The sessions had focussed on Governance, Financial Statements and Auditors, Mergers and Restructuring, Boardroom Diversity, Role of Independent Directors, Auditor Rotation, Financial Controls and CSR.
Over 50 participants from industry, media, government, college & academia had attended the seminar.
• WORKSHOP ON LIABILITY OF INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS (22 February 2013, Kolkata)
The workshop on "Liability of Independent Directors" was organized by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), under the aegis of NFCG, on 22nd February 2013 in Kolkata.

• Round Table on Corporate Governance Practices and Financial Performance of Family Managed Medium Sized Listed Companies (16 February 2013, Mumbai)
The Round Table was organized at SPJIMR on February 16, 2013 in Mumbai. The Round Table was attended by around 50 participants including Mr. Sutanu Sinha, Core Group Member, NFCG, Ms. Shalini Budathoki, Director, CII, several Chairmen and Company Secretaries of selected family managed companies, representatives of accredited institutions, faculty members of SPJIMR and Corporate Governance experts.
• Awareness Session on CORPORATE GOVERNANCE 26 February 2013: Hotel Taj Gateway: Kochi
Over the last few years, India has witnessed a significant amount of improvement in the standards and guidelines that have transformed the Indian Corporate Governance framework. In order to remain responsive to developments in the corporate world, Corporate Governance standards need to be constantly evaluated, assessed and strengthened.
In this context, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Kerala in association with National Foundation for Corporate Governance (NFCG) organized a Conference on Corporate Governance at 0945 – 1400 hrs on 26 February 2013 at Hotel Taj Gateway, Marine Drive, Kochi.
The Conference Agenda covered, amongst others inaugural session with visionaries, session on "Visionary Corporate Governance Practices" and "How Governance can Deliver Value for Your Organization?
The session attended by corporate leaders, accounting and legal professionals, and senior officers of the company responsible for developing internal ethics, policies and compliance systems.
• REPORT ON BOARD OREINTATION PROGRAMME (Held at Manali from 12th -14th Sep. 2013)
IPE had organized a Board orientation Programme, under the aegis of NFCG, which was at Manali from 12th -14th Sep. 2013. The event was a most successful event and was attended by 22 senior executives (Directors & GMs) from various Public Sector Enterprises (both Central & State) and Banking & Insurance.
• National Declamation Contest on “Framework Code of Good Corporate Governance – A Theme for Ensuring the Sustainability and Competitiveness of Indian Businesses in Today’s Globalized Economy”, 2 March 2013; Pune
Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, conducted the National Declamation Contest 2013 on 2nd March 2013. The topic for the contest was “Framework Code of Good Corporate Governance – A Theme for Ensuring the Sustainability and Competitiveness of Indian Businesses in Today’s Globalized Economy”.
